Location 1 - Church hall
The church hall, this hall is going to be used as one of the places for texture shots. with the right lighting, angles and camera shots the place can have the menacing horror movie vibe that the movie trailer is aiming for. The large space is similar to the movie trailers that inspired our own due to the fact that it has that type of old feel to it as well as the sort of exposed brick walls that would be used in torture houses or warehouses where people are kept hostage and eventually killed.

Risks assessment
There is the small risk of certain camera equipment or perhaps even crew and cast tripping over the raised platform that is the entrance to the church. If either of the two were to trip over the platform then they could hurt themselves and the equipment would perhaps even be damaged if it fell from a high enough height, thus we will make sure that all crew and cast members as well as all equipment are properly entered within the building if the need arises by lifting equipment above the ledge and watching where we step. Although, this being said, this is the only raised platform within the building and so this risk is not of large importance.
there is the risk of a low hanging heating system. if camera equipment was bought in (as cast and crew members are far too short to hit the fixture) it could possibly hit the fixture and most likely either the fixture would be damaged or the equipment could be damaged. and so, when equipment is bought in and placed around all those who move it must and will keep in mind that this single hanging light fixture is to be avoided.
Location reece sheet
The permission for the location is a conditional permission. As the site is a church the contact clearly stated that she would like to know exactly what scenes and what activities would be going on in the premises before she gave permission, she also stated that her main priority was making sure that the church and all that it stands for was respected. After I ensure her that this is the case she will gladly sign the contract.
The space is said to be 36' x 50'. Thursday 3rd November.
The contact has been ensured of the scenes.

location 2 - the hoxton basement
The hoxton basement is a location that will work a lot like the church. This location however is a place where more of the gruesome bloody mirder scenes can be filmed if need be. Although, the fact that the location is quite white and clean that isn't to say with the right props, camera angles and lighting this cannot change the location into a place that would be better suited for a horror movie trailer. Especially since one again the location much like the hall is rather spacious. The lack of Windows in the place (with the correct lighting) could give the location a sort of torture chamber type of aesthetic to it. Also, any scenes that involve chases or the killer attacking the antagonist can be shot here.

Risk assessment
Potential risk- one of the possible risks is a low hanging light fixture, and much like the church Location if any camera equipment or lighting equipment was to hit this then the light fixture might become damaged and so we need to avoid it. if not both our own camera equipment as well as the venues equipment could be put at risk of being damaged.
Location- low ceiling of the establishment. there are many light fixtures that need to cautiously avoided. Who is at risk- The camera equipment and the venues equipment. if any of these two were to drop or fall over then a student/crew and cast member may be put at risk. How are you going to make sure it doesn't happen- I am going to make sure that all navigation of equipment (its low, but not low enough for a person to be in danger by themselves) is done carefully and does not hit the lighting fixture by not being lifted too high. Who's responsibility- Olivia Prendergast as my contact details are the ones given. these are the people primarily involved with taking care of the location, one scouted the location whilst the other paid for it.. |
Location 3
The third location is an old police station, located in Deptford. the building is used as a filming location specifically for these type of movies and events because if its old, run-down nature. especially since the location is not one that was built to look like an old police station but is in fact an old police station. the space for the location is small (smaller than the hoxton basement, its measurements are unknown), filming will occur most likely in the jail cells and the reception area outside of the jail cells as there are aspects that can add to the texture for the movie.

Location risk assessment
The steps leading up to the establishment are quite steep and easy to trip over, this will make the task of bringing all of the equipment into the location a little bit harder than preferred. however, if care and time to properly place the equipment is taken then this should not be a problem. the personnel at risk will be crew, cast and supervisors. as mentioned before, to make sure that this doesn't happen care and cautiousness needs to be endured. this includes going down the steps also, all heavy equipment should be carried one at a time up the steps and if two people are needed then two people should help carry the equipment up the steps.

As mentioned before in the set-design mood board
"The setting will be an abandoned location as abandoned locations already have a sort of menacing feeling about them, they naturally rust over time and the continuous mental note that this place was once inhabited and now for some reason is not can be something that adds to the natural horror of the setting, also the size of the hall-like location is something that can create thoughts of not necessarily being alone in a space that big. every creak, crack and sound leads the mind to a state of paranoia from being in a space that big, in other words its almost as if they're forced to have a fear of the unknown of whats out there.
The scenes that can be shot here can be largely varied, for example a chase scene down a corridor, a protagonists attempt to hide in a room that seems empty but at the same time seems as though the antagonist could burst in by using some unknown entrance and a large splatter scene where the walls could be covered in heaps of blood. also the space provides camera angle possibilities if needed and if possible, high angle shots can be used due to the high ceiling and entrance shots could be used because of the large area of rooms where it is clear to see who's coming in.
Also there is the fact that within teenage horror movies/slasher movies there is always a creepy abandoned place that the teenagers inevitably go to for some reason that will ultimately be the place of the characters demise. an abandoned warehouse fits this trope almost perfectly."
